AMA Orlando Event: Managing a Brand

Maintaining a brand is increasingly challenging for marketers in the digital age, where quick turnaround times for proper logo and brand approvals are fast, and brand assets are increasingly leveraged digitally by consumers and companies alike. Join the American Marketing Association of Orlando for a panel on what marketers can do to proactively maintain brand alignment and consistency.

Moderator: Jennifer Fippinger, Sr. Brand & Membership Specialist, AAA

Jenn Fippinger joined the AAA National Office Brand Strategy team in 2016. In her most recent role as the Sr. Brand and Membership Specialist she is responsible for brand governance and guidance. She believes that good brand governance involves strategy, collaboration and flexibility. Prior to AAA, Jenn freelanced as a business analyst and marketing consultant. She earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida.

Barb Scherer, Vice President of Marketing, W.S. Badcock Corporation

Barb Scherer has joined W.S. Badcock Corporation as the new Vice President of Marketing for the 115-year old company and its 356 Badcock Home Furniture &more retail stores. Having served in roles at national advertising agencies and in corporate marketing, Barb brings over 30 years of experience in the advertising and marketing industry to this position. Barb attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland and began her career in New York City working on the Diet Coke national advertising account. While in NYC, she also handled public relations for household brands like Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, Rit Dye, Resolve Carpet Cleaner.

Mark Terry, Partner, TKO

Mark serves as lead brand strategist and plays an integral role in all aspects of marketing strategies, creative and execution. A principal of TK Orlando, LLC. (TKO), he oversees all aspects of creative and financial endeavors of the company and with his partner, Ginger Kane, defines brand positioning and creative strategies for all clients. During his 36-year career, Mark has served as a creative resource and marketing consultant to many clients representing such diverse industries as: Commercial Real Estate, Government, Sports Marketing, Industrial, Retail, Food Service and Hospitality. He has always been active in community service.

Sam Stark, CMO, Rollins College

Sam Stark began working at Rollins in 2017. With a diverse and extensive background in marketing and community relations, this opportunity brings Stark “home” to his alma mater and institution where he served as a volunteer since graduation. As the lead of the department, Stark manages a team of sixteen who market the college to prospective students and external audiences. In addition, Stark leads local community relations efforts for the college.

Sharon Clary, Vice President of Marketing, AdventHealth

Sharon Line Clary is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Information, Management and Marketing and Master’s Degree in Marketing and Communication Technologies. Her experience includes positions within the sports, hospitality and healthcare fields including stints with the Florida State University Athletic and Sports Information Departments, World Cup Soccer, Olympic Games and Mission Inn Resort and Club. For the past 22 years, Sharon has been with Florida Hospital, now AdventHealth. Currently, she is Vice President of Marketing where she oversees strategic marketing and sales for the nationally ranked health care system which encompasses 10 hospitals, 11 emergency rooms, 24 urgent care centers, outpatient facilities/services, a 600+ employed multi-specialty physician practice and 2,500+ medical staff.
